Hi friends,
This weekend I went to visit the village of my closest Peace Corps Volunteer “neighbor.” Cory’s village has about 300 people and is 10 km away, an hour and a half walk through the bush. Like in every country, rural life is much different than urban life! I’ve posted some pictures.
As a side note, Cory is doing a project to build replace the mud brick and millet stalk school house (I took some pics) with one made of cement. If you’re interested in supporting this work, you can read more at: https://www.peacecorps.gov/resources/donors/contribute/projdetail.cfm?projdesc=

Erin,
You have an uncle that knows a thing or two about putting up buildings. If you friend Cory needs help, has questions or needs suggestions, let him/her know that I’m available to talk.
Hope all is well.
Love always, Jim

Bonjour mon amie. I’ve been reading your blog ever since we got to California (land sweet land) last month and got internet again. Your pictures are beautiful… I love their composure. More stories to follow from the left coast about the trek around and then across America (we had an amazing time, and over the entire time in the car I only fell asleep for an hour)! You’re an inspiration, and I miss you. Love, Bree
